$2.99 Gas, Woohoo! Not So Fast?
Category: Jeep News
Surely by now you have heard about the Let’s Refuel America Program. The television commercials advertise $2.99 gas for up to three years on Jeep vehicles. But you may not be aware of the actual details of the program. As always the devil is in the details and we all know how slick the automobile industry advertising genius’ can be. So is this a good deal? Judge for yourself.
This is how the program works. Upon purchase of a new Jeep the happy new Jeep owner is asked to register for this program in lieu of other incentives. Within 4 to 6 weeks you will receive your new Chrysler gas card and pin number. The card is linked to your personal credit card so every time you make a fuel purchase your card is charged $2.99 per gallon. Sounds like a great deal, especially if gas prices continue to spike. But not so fast, there are some restrictions. First off this program is not offered for the most beloved of all Jeep vehicles, the Wrangler. Secondly you are not allowed unlimited gasoline, you are allotted a set amount of gallons per year based on your vehicles mileage. And about that allotment, your annual allotment resets on 7/31 of each year so you probably will not get your three years worth of gas.
Whether you think the program is a good deal or not you have to agree that it is a hell of a good idea which will probably lure thousands of extra buyers into Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealerships. For more information on the Let’s Refuel America Program visit the official website here.
